"Building The Way" is all about growth & development! Featuring our International President PAULA DAVIS, former International Board Member and Task Force Specialist THERESE ANTONINI, and one of SAI's new International Faculty Members and Region 8 Leadership Development Specialist LESLIE GALBREATH.

 

This workshop is for ALL who want to grow individually, as chorus members, as quartet members, and beyond!

 

Registration for General Membership is $80 - includes lunch on Saturday (breakfast Saturday/Sunday if staying at the hotel)

 

A special musical leadership workshop for directors will be held in conjuction with this workshop on Friday, January 19, 2018. PAULA DAVIS is the featured faculty. (Chorus Directors will receive additional information, including pricing for this session.)

Attendees will learn and apply concepts and approached to their unique SAI roles - as chorus & quartet singers, leaders on the risers, leaders in front of the risers, management team leaders, emerging leaders, transitioning leaders, veteran leaders in new roles, etc.

 

Saturday:

- What does it mean to be a leader?  Characteristics of excellent leaders, etc.

- Vision & Visioning - Why it's important to have a vision and a vision statement, and how to do it

- Membership in the New Millennium - What are the real requirements of being a member of SAI and being a Sweet Adelines chorus & what is not required by International

- Charting the Journey - How to create an effective and manageable strategic plan

- Working with others to create a vision and a plan for executing that vision with personalized assistance from Paula, Therese, & Leslie. This is a tremendoud hands-on opportunity for chorus leaders, quartets, etc. to make real and substantive progress on visions and plans for achieving those visions. This is a crucial component of effecting successful leadership transitions.

 

Sunday morning:

- Paula, Therese, & Leslie are available for private leadership, visioning, and planning consultation, and will also helping continue progress on planning and facilitating relationship-building and idea-sharing.

- Many members of the expanded regional management/resource team will be in attendance and can add their expertise to your conversations

Saturday Night Show at Building the Way workshop - 7:00pm

  • First 10 to come forward and sign up will be on the show (must be registered for the workshop)!
  • Each act to be from 5-7 minutes
    • Sing (solo, duet, trio - non barbershop)
    • Dance
    • Play an instrument
    • If you want to play a piano, bring a keyboard
    • Quartet or Double Quartet (limiting barbershop to 4 of the 10 acts)
  • Queen of Hearts Dame Judy Vidal will be the MC
  • Deadline to enter with be JANUARY 10th
