About Rocky Mountain Region 8

Rocky Mountain Region 8 of Sweet Adelines International is an eight state organization of women singers dedicated to advancing the art form of barbershop harmony through education, performances and friendship.

If singing an exciting variety of choral music arranged in four-part harmony - and making new friends - sounds appealing to you, get acquainted with Sweet Adelines International!

Founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1945, Sweet Adelines started as a small group of women who loved to sing. Since then, it has evolved into an organization that spans the globe connecting nearly 21,000 singers around the world in song. We’re dedicated to preserving the unique sound of a cappella barbershop harmony, sharing our passion for music and empowering our singers in every area of their lives. We welcome singers from all nationalities and backgrounds to join in the joy of barbershop harmony.

Music includes special arrangements of today's ballads and upbeat songs, popular show tunes, and even jazz.

Members say that singing the powerfully balanced sounds of barbershop harmony provides a rich, rewarding experience.

Diversity, Inclusion and Culture of Belonging:

Region 8 supports - and is committed to - the Guiding Principles of Diversity, Inclusion and Culture of Belonging, as stated by Sweet Adelines International:

Diversity and Inclusion

We celebrate our differences as essential to the rich harmony that unites us. As we recognize barbershop’s African American origins and learn from our exclusionary past toward women of color, we reject discrimination and unwaveringly strive toward greater awareness, openness, and understanding of each other.

Culture of Belonging

We create harmony where every voice matters. We foster a culture that provides a joyful place to share our uniqueness within a global community united in song.
